Galveston County Daily News, May 18, 2008 The Galveston Historical Foundation has chosen Dr. Grace K. Jameson as the next recipient of the Steel Oleander Award. The award, given annually since 1994, is bestowed upon a woman who has made significant contributions to the development of the community and to the education of the public about the role women have played in the history of the city. "I practiced medicine here in Galveston for 50 years," said Jameson, a child and adolescent psychiatrist retired from UTMB.
