Galveston County Daily News, June 4, 2008 The WorkSource-Gulf Coast Workforce Board made no decision Tuesday on closing the island center in response to federal funding cuts. Although some WorkSource services are available online, training programs aren't. Kathy Shingleton, vice president for Human Resources and Employee Services at UTMB and a member of the Gulf Coast Workforce Board, said some of the island's poorest don't have easy access to computers or transportation to the mainland.
