Houston Chronicle Bay Area, June 5, 2008 Dr. Brian S. Zachariah, medical director of the emergency medicine division at UTMB, has been named a "Hero of Emergency Medicine" by the American College of Emergency Physicians. Also, UTMB's medical school awarded degrees to 187 new physicians Saturday. A Ball High School senior and two juniors - Carter Ware, Kelly Wong and Carina Moreno - have earned top honors for their scientific research presentations that were produced in collaboration with faculty and graduate student mentors from UTMB. Mindy Scott, an occupational therapy student, has been named the Robert K. Bing Occupational Therapy Scholar.
