Houston Chronicle Bay Area, June 12, 2008 Betsy Clardy has been named associate vice president and chief development officer for UTMB. Also, Viet Pham is the winner of the Gold-Headed Cane Award, a distinction given by UTMB medical school seniors every year to a student who exemplifies dedication to the health and welfare of patients. UTMB's Pearland Regional Maternal and Child Health Clinic held an open house and dedication ceremony June 5. School of Nursing student Leslie Barrera is the recipient of this year's Methodist Outstanding Student Scholarship Awards. Mary A. Barnes and Chinelo Nwobu were finalists. Mary Ann Best, an assistant professor in the nursing school, has been appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Health Care, and Julie Lindsay, an instructor in the nursing school, was selected Outstanding BSN Faculty by the graduating class of 2008.
