Houston Chronicle Bay Area, June 19, 2008 The UTMB John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine awarded the 2008 John P. McGovern Lifetime Achievement Award in Oslerian Medicine to Dr. Luther Travis, emeritus professor in the department of pediatrics. Also, The UTMB Blood Center facility in Dickinson has opened and is accepting donations. Dr. William Mize has joined the faculty of UTMB's pediatrics department. A new book, "Do Vaccines Cause That?! A Guide for Evaluating Vaccine Safety Concerns," written by Dr. Martin G. Myers and Diego Pineda, the book was written to help parents weigh the evidence about vaccinations.
