Galveston County Daily News, July 13, 2008 Marsha Canright, director of media communications at UTMB, writes about how her family here in Galveston took care of her father-in-law, Norm, in her house instead of sending him to an assisted-living center.  "When it was over, I felt proud of my husband for the tender, patient care he gave his father and proud of my daughter for her gentle companionship with her granddad. I learned so much in those two years, but the most important lesson was that as a family, and with the help of others, we were able to provide comfort and a measure of dignity to a man we dearly loved."
