3-Share splits monthly costs between employer and endowment The Houston Chronicle, July 26, 2008 This article says that other counties, including Harris County, are monitoring UTMB's 3-Share Plan before they embark on their own programs. UTMB's Barbara Brier and Jim Rodriguez are quoted in the article. The 3-Share Plan allows small businesses to provide health benefits to their employees by splitting the cost three ways among the employee, the employer and a third source.  In the UTMB plan, a third of the cost is by paid by UTMB and a grant from Houston Endowment.
