"When you are sitting there worrying about where your child is and if they are safe, it's hard to be productive," English said. The report also features state officials, including Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who toured UTMB. Dewhurst said that many options need to be considered, including whether some functions of UTMB should be moved off the island. Dr. David Callender, in discussing many options being considered, says, "People are concerned. They've heard, ‘You're only going to be a community hospital.' That's not true. We're UTMB."
