Children of U.S. farm workers often uninsured December 3, 2008 Science Daily, Dec. 1, 2008 A study has found that children of U.S. farm workers are three times more likely than other children and almost twice as likely as other poor youngsters to have no health insurance coverage. According to UTMB's Dr. Roberto L. Rodriguez in Austin, "Health insurance improves children's access to and use of health care services, making children's health insurance an important proxy for children's health care access." The study is receiving worldwide attention and versions of this article appear on several Web sites in Australia, Great Britain and Canada as well as dozens of news stations and newspaper sites in the United States.
