Seven federal grants awarded to Texas; UTMB to receive $38 million December 8, 2008 Beaumont Enterprise, Dec. 6, 2008 The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded seven federal grants to the state of Texas for Hurricane Ike recovery efforts, according to U.S. Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn. The largest part of the money, more than $38.9 million, will go to University of Texas Medical Branch for emergency protective services.
