Among the recommendations gleaned from a community discussion: "Health coverage should be independent of employment. Employer-based coverage forces many people to work for large corporations solely for health care and discourages entrepreneurship due to the cost of insurance benefits. It leaves people vulnerable to pre-existing condition exclusions and being uninsured when changing jobs or in economic downturns. ..."
