Beaumont Enterprise, Jan. 27, 2009 A consortium of hospitals in Jefferson County has proposed treating indigent patients that used to be treated at UTMB. The hospital consortium could replace UTMB for all but a few types of medical cases, such as serious burns, according to Jefferson County officials.
