UTMB professor serves as consultant in Eritrea February 9, 2009 GALVESTON, Texas - Lisa D. Cain, an associate professor in the Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and director of medical school enrichment programs, consulted with officials of Eritrea, a country in northeast Africa, in late January about its educational needs. "My primary purpose was to develop a needs assessment and to provide advice and explore collaborative opportunities regarding the establishment of a graduate school of biomedical sciences at the Orotta medical school," Cain said. While in Eritrea, Cain met with Saleh Meky, Eritrean minister of health, and Dr. Andemariam Gebremichael, dean of the Orotta School of Medicine.
