UTMB’s Tony DiNuzzo, in this guest column, writes about how lucky he feels that his home did not sustain any damage from Ike but also laments that the island has changed and senses that the joy of living on the island has left many of its residents. However, he is hopeful and writes: “Galveston is my home that I will love forever. And for that, just knowing it is still here brings me joy. Hope is eternal and the future bright. I feel better already.”
