On Friday, March 27, UTMB filed a restraining order to keep the national Shriners Hospitals for Children from locking UTMB out of the Galveston building. UTMB officials said Shriners gave insufficient legal notice, thus forcing UTMB to take the legal action to protect ongoing burn research being conducted in the building. The action was reported in the Houston Chronicle, the Galveston County Daily News, KTRK-TV (Ch. 13, Houston) and KPRC-TV (Ch. 2, Houston). KHOU-TV (Ch. 11, Houston) and Fox26 Houston also reported on the restraining order but have not posted reports on their Web sites.
