UTMB's Kathy Shingleton is quoted in this report about UTMB rehiring employees who lost their jobs after Hurricane Ike. "We have a five-year plan for hiring. When we go through a reduction in force, all of our former employees are given first preference, so they'll continue to come back. We're trying to get back to the old configuration, but it'll take us several years to get there."
