The Clear Lake and Bay Area section of the Houston Chronicle each Thursday publishes news from UTMB. This week's items, provided by UTMB's Office of Public Affairs, include Armond S. Goldman winning the John P. McGovern Lifetime Achievement Award in Oslerian Medicine; Amber Higgs, a first-year medical student, and Ashley Grant, a graduate student in the department of pathology, being selected for the inaugural class of the Houston/Galveston Schweitzer Fellows for Life program; the School of Medicine getting ready to welcome its newest class on Aug. 24 with a white coat ceremony; and five faculty members being honored with a John P. McGovern Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award. The faculty members are Drs. Ronald Lindsey, Susan McCammon, William Mileski, Vincent Valentine and Tony Wen.
