UTMB's Dr. Ben Raimer is quoted in this article about a contract with Galveston County to provide health care to indigent residents. County officials had said that UTMB had cancelled the contract. But Raimer noted that UTMB had extended the county's contract last year and that the county had not renewed it. "They failed to renew the contract," Raimer said. "We have sent them contracts. They refuse to sign the contracts. I have no way to make them do that."
