A study by UTMB’s Yen-Chi L. Le, Mahbubur Rahman and Dr. Abbey Berenson continues to receive coverage. The results of the study, published last week in the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology, identified that some women are more likely to gain a significant amount of weight — upwards of 20 pounds — while using depot medroxyprogesterone acetate, more commonly known as Depo-Provera or the birth control shot.
