GALVESTON, Texas - Lisa D. Cain, an associate professor in the department of neuroscience and cell biology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, participated in the African Diaspora Scientific Community Mobilization for Africa Initiative held in Paris in July. The African Scientific Institute and UNESCO organized the scientific conference. Cain is the Gulf Coast representative of ASI and served on the conference planning committee.

The conference addressed how scientists and technologists can work together to influence the infrastructure of Africa. Cain focused on graduate and medical education.
