This article is about a meeting earlier this week involving civic leaders, UTMB representatives, other hospital officials and business leaders that was held to explain why county commissioners are going to ask voters to approve a hospital district. Creating the district would trigger the release of money so that UTMB can build a new hospital. County Judge Jim Yarbrough conceded that the meeting, which ultimately included a quorum of commissioners, was not properly posted to notify the general public as required by state law.
