GALVESTON, Texas —The University of Texas Medical Branch recently named Karen Chapman, UTMB physical therapist, as director for the Department of Rehabilitation Services.
Chapman has served as the department’s program manager and interim director for the past year, and she has worked various capacities as a physical therapist, including acute care supervisor and coordinator of outpatient services.
A native of Galveston, Chapman earned her physical therapy degree at UTMB and began her career at the university in 1988. She completed studies toward her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and Stephen F. Austin University. Chapman is working online toward a doctorate in physical therapy from Simmons College in Boston.
