Karen Brykczynski, a professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, has been elected a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. She has been a faculty member at UTMB since 1986.
The AAN’s approximately 1,500 fellows are nursing leaders in education, management, practice and research. Brykczynski, a registered nurse, earned her doctorate in family health care nursing from the University of California San Francisco School of Nursing. She was inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2004.
