Wagner named distinguished alumni

GALVESTON, Texas — Karen Dineen Wagner, M.D., Ph.D., Vice Chair of Psychiatry and Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical Branch, has been named a distinguished alumni of Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York.  She will be honored in November at a ceremony in Port Jefferson, N.Y.

Dr. Wagner is the Robert L. Stubblefield Professor of Psychiatry at UTMB. She is an internationally recognized expert in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents.  She was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the State University of New York.
 
Stony Brook’s Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes distinguished graduates who have provided outstanding service to their profession and community.
