Houston Chronicle (Internet / Print) 03/02/06 http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/life/society/3694894.html Ten years after Paige and Tilman Fertitta launched their annual night of Mardi Gras madness billed as the San Luis Salute, the extravaganza keeps on playing to a sellout crowd determined to raise the roof. Saturday night's "Secrets of Venice" masked ball maxxed out before invitations were printed, prompting Tilman and his right-hand party man, Richard Flowers, to move the event from its San Luis Hotel home to the neighboring Galveston Convention Center. For the Venetian-themed party, Flowers dressed the Convention Center ballroom in crystal chandeliers, murals depicting Venetian scenes and explosions of colorful flowers. The party benefited the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and honored Dr. J. Marc Shabot and Dr. G.S. Raju, both of the department of internal medicine.
