The Texas Medical Rangers are a volunteer medical reserve corps of the Texas State Guard, made up of medical and non-medical professionals who respond to large-scale disasters and help the state monitor for outbreaks of disease. The units meet monthly for training and exercises. A meeting on the new unit to be based at UTMB is being held in Room 1.115 at the UTMB Rebecca Sealy Hospital, Eighth and Market streets, in Galveston. For information, call 409-772-1425.
