Texas Medicine (Print) February 2006 http://www.texmed.org/Template.aspx?id=4638 (no direct weblink available) The number of medical residents being trained in Austin will expand to more than 200 by 2010 under an agreement between the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and the SETON Healthcare Network. A UTMB spokesperson says the 30-year agreement will formalize the existing relationship between SETON and UTMB and put the medical school in charge of sponsoring and managing graduate medical education programs at SETON. The partnership between Austin’s largest health care provider and the oldest medical school in Texas will expand the current graduate medical education program at SETON and help develop new specialty education opportunities in the area.
