Galveston County Daily News (Internet / Print) 01/08/06 http://www.galvnews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=64f9f409bf65e2e5 Less than a day after declaring he would not give up efforts to return to his post as majority leader, U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay did just that Saturday. The 21-year Republican congressman announced he would forego his claim on the majority leader’s post while battling charges of money laundering related to campaign donations by a political action committee. DeLay said making his way back on the appropriations committee would be important. “(Time to) go to work on issues like NASA, UTMB, transportation issues, Port of Houston, Port of Galveston… all the things that are important to the Houston-Galveston area,” he said.
