Aly, director of pediatric cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, led the chants before addressing his audience in Arabic. “We are all Muslims submitting our will to Allah,” he told those gathered in the Galveston Islamic Center on Tuesday morning. They were there to celebrate the second of two major Islamic holy days. Eid Ul Adha, the feast of sacrifice, commemorates Allah’s command to the prophet Abraham to sacrifice his first-born son.
